Visit our Sevenhill Tasting Room & Distillery

Gin tasting in the Clare Valley, at our Sevenhill cellar door.

Our distillery and tasting room is tucked into 22 Jeanneret Road, Sevenhill — surrounded by gum trees, rolling hills, and the quiet that only the Clare Valley does this well. Come out for an afternoon. Stay longer than you planned.

The tasting room

Walk in, slow down.

You'll smell it before you see it — juniper, citrus peel and warm bread from the wood oven drifting out across the gravel. Inside, the tasting room is all old stone walls, low beams and soft light, with the gin range lined up on the back bar and jars of dried citrus wheels waiting to be dropped into your glass. In the cooler months there's an open fire going, with leather couches pulled up close to it.

The still itself isn't in here — it lives in the distillery shed about 30 metres up the hill, where the gin is actually made. Outside, the lawn runs to a line of old gums with shade, picnic tables and room for the kids and the dog to spread out. Sit down, order a flight, and let the afternoon go where it wants.

What's on offer

Flights, cocktails, pizza, plates.

Guided Gin Flights

Take your tastebuds on a botanical adventure with a guided flight through our award-winning gins. Choose three 20mL pours from our seven medal-winning expressions — Signature, Navy Strength, Bramble, Blackbird, RG23 Riesling and SG23 Shiraz — each matched with the perfect mixer and garnish, from $25 per person.

Signature Cocktails

Our cocktail list is built around every gin in the range. From a bright Strawberry Myrtle and a rich Espresso Martini to sharing jugs of Ginger Gin Gin and Elderberry Spritz, there's always something worth raising a glass to.

Wood-Fired Pizzas

The Three Little Birds kitchen fires up honest, generous pizzas from midday — Classic Margherita, Three Little Birds Special, Prosciutto with pear and balsamic, Garlic Prawn and more. Gluten-free bases available.

Sides, Share Plates & Sweets

Pizza is just the start. We also serve house-made mushroom arancini, fish tacos, sweet corn ribs, smashed potatoes, caprese salad, and a proper fish and chip basket. Finish with churros and vanilla bean ice cream.

Make a day of it

What else is nearby.

You're in the middle of the Clare Valley here, so there's no shortage of things to do. Jeanneret Wines pours right beside us — the same vineyard our grape base comes from — and Clare Valley Brewing is in the same building. Ride or walk a stretch of the Riesling Trail in the morning, lunch at the Sevenhill Hotel or the Watervale Hotel, then finish the afternoon with us over a flight and a pizza. If you're planning ahead, the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend in May is the one to build a trip around.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions.

Where is Three Little Birds Distillery?
22 Jeanneret Road, Sevenhill SA 5453, in the heart of the Clare Valley — about a two hour drive north of Adelaide and a few minutes from Clare.
Is the distillery dog friendly?
Yes. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in our outdoor areas, and there is plenty of shade and lawn for them to settle on.

Guided gin flights start from $25 per person and include three 20mL pours from our range, each matched with the right mixer and garnish.
Do you take group bookings?
We do. Groups of eight or more are best booked ahead through our online booking system so we can set aside the right space and have the kitchen ready. Birthdays, bucks and hens days and work do's are all welcome — get in touch and we'll sort the details.
Is the tasting room wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The tasting room and outdoor areas are on a single level with step-free entry, and there is parking close to the door. If you'd like us to hold an accessible table, mention it when you book.

Absolutely. We serve soft drinks, juices, tea and coffee, plus the full food menu, so designated drivers and non-drinkers have plenty to enjoy while the rest of the table works through a gin flight.
Do you serve food?
We do. The kitchen runs wood-fired pizza, share plates and snacks, plus weekly specials — Fish & Chips on Fridays and Low & Slow Meats on Sundays.
Can I buy gin to take home?
Yes — the full range is available at the cellar door in 700ml and 200ml bottles, and you can also order online for delivery across Australia.
